TAKING THE OG PRACTICE FURTHER

DEMYSTIFYING MANIFESTATION

Increasingly, the West has applied many Eastern holistic practices seeking greater connection to self. Now that science has proven the benefits of meditation, it has entered the mainstream as a prime wellness tool. It seems now the proficient population is looking to further their practice. Enter in: MANIFESTATION. an extension of meditation that can help you to practically apply all of the mental and physical rewards you’re reaping.

THE SCIENCE

Contrary to popular belief throughout social media, manifestation is not instant gratification, well kinda. Just because you ask for an outcome, doesn’t necessarily mean it will appear. Ultimately you can replace the word “manifestation” with “attraction”.

Through a scientific lens, when you meditate you aim to ultimately engage the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), which regulates bodily functions which are outside of voluntary control (heart rate, bladder contraction, etc). Further your PNS is shown to even physiologically change the gray matter in your brain so it responds better to anxiety. Being proficient at tapping further into the PNS post meditation primes your mind and body to “manifest” or attract desired outcomes, since it’s at a more relaxed state.

BASIC EXAMPLE: The better I sleep, stimulating the PNS, the better I can work in a focused environment. Focused and accomplished work then leads to continued successful resulting in a promotion to a new position.

Where your focus flows, your energy goes. It’s not exactly mystical, its practical. You need to still show up and equip yourself to be as attractive, radiant, and effervescent as possible.

HOW TO DO IT

Found in the journal of Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, experts agree that directly after a meditation 2 minutes of intentional manifestation should be applied. Those precious moments after mediation are powerful. Rather than grabbing your phone, focus on direct goal setting.

The objective is to be as specific and consistent as possible on the things you wish to achieve. Spending several minutes daily, focusing and visualizing desired outcomes creates positive changes to the brain while directing you toward a path of success.

Possibly even during your meditation, you can cultivate desired habits: creativity, focus, performance.

THE GIST

Regardless of your approach, one of the best times to mediate and to manifest is at bedtime in a quiet space. As you fall asleep, your mind drifts between two different states of consciousness, bouncing between left and right brain hemispheres. It’s this magical time where you're not fully awake or asleep, that you are able to fully visualize your dreams, your goals, your ideal vision of yourself. Use that to best of your power.
